What is the CompTIA A+ certification?
CompTIA A+ is an entry-level certification for IT support and help desk technicians. It's often the first professional IT certification people earn, covering the hardware, networking, operating systems, security, and troubleshooting skills a support technician uses every day.
A+ is earned by passing two separate exams — Core 1 (220-1201) and Core 2 (220-1202) — not one combined test. Both are required; there is no partial certification for passing just one.

How many questions is the CompTIA A+ exam?
Each A+ exam has a maximum of 90 questions. There are two exams — Core 1 (220-1201) and Core 2 (220-1202) — so you'll answer up to 180 questions total across both, each in a 90-minute session.
