Getting Started

CertStudio helps you pass the ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) exam with flashcards, practice quizzes, and progress tracking. More exam preps are on the way — pick yours from the dropdown at the top of the Dashboard. It installs as an app and works offline once loaded.

The five tabs

  • 🏠 Dashboard — your completion ring, day streak, a “what’s left to 100%” checklist, and your account menu.
  • 📖 Study — a searchable list of every term; expand one to read it and rate how well you know it.
  • 🗂️ Flashcards — flip-card mode for focused review.
  • 📝 Quiz — timed practice questions with instant explanations.
  • 📊 Progress — your term-mastery ring, stats, and quiz history.

Studying with flashcards

In the Flashcards tab, tap a card to flip it from the term to its definition and a real-world scenario. Use the filter chips (All, ⭐ Favorites, D1–D5) to focus the deck, or Shuffle to randomize it.

  • Tap the card, or press Space or F, to flip it.
  • Once flipped, press 1 (Still learning) or 2 (Know it) to rate it.
  • Use ← / → (or Prev / Next) to move through the deck.
  • Tap 🔊 (or press S) to hear the term and definition read aloud.
  • The slim bar under the chips shows how far you are through the current deck.

Rating what you know

After flipping a card, mark how well you know it. You can rate from both the Study tab and the Flashcards tab — they share the same tracking.

  • 🟡 Still learning — you’re not solid on it yet.
  • 🟢 Know it — you could explain it confidently.
  • On the Progress tab, tap the Still Learning or Know It tile to see exactly which terms are in each group — then tap a term to jump straight to its card.

Favorites ⭐

Tap the star on any card to favorite it — handy for flagging tricky terms or key facts you want to find again fast. Favorites are separate from how well you know a card, so you can star anything.

  • Filter the Study tab or Flashcards tab by ⭐ Favorites to drill just your starred cards.
  • The Progress tab has a ⭐ Favorites tile listing everything you’ve saved.

Taking quizzes

In the Quiz tab, choose how many questions (10 / 15 / 20), the time per question (60s / 90s / none), and a domain focus. Pick an answer (tap it, or press A–D), submit, and each question shows an instant explanation so you learn as you go. Answer several in a row correctly to build a 🔥 streak.

Practice your mistakes

Every question you miss is collected automatically. Tap the 🔁 Practice Mistakes button — on the Quiz tab or the Progress tab — to retake only the questions you got wrong. A question leaves the set once you answer it correctly. On the Progress tab you can also drill the misses from just one domain.

Tracking progress

Two places show where you stand. Your Dashboard has the Course Completion ring — one “% Complete” number for how much of the course you’ve actually worked through — plus your day streak, last-quiz score, and a “What’s left to 100%” checklist that links straight to whatever’s unfinished. The Progress tab goes deeper: a Term Mastery ring (the share of terms you’ve marked “Know it”), Your Cards (still learning / know it / favorites — tap a tile to list them), Quiz Stats (quizzes taken, average score, best score, cards reviewed), and Quiz History grouped by domain. (Per-domain coverage bars are coming soon.)

  • 📖 Study — 30%. Open each term’s dropdown in the Study tab and keep it open at least 1.5 seconds. Your score is the share of terms viewed, averaged across all 5 domains.
  • 🗂️ Flashcards — 30%. Flip each card in the Flashcards tab and leave it flipped at least 1.5 seconds. Your score is the share of cards viewed, averaged across all 5 domains.
  • 📝 Quiz — 40%. A domain counts once you’ve answered at least 15 questions in it with a 73% or better accuracy. Your score is how many of the 5 domains have cleared that bar.
  • Reach 100% when you’ve viewed every term and every flashcard, and passed the 15-question / 73% quiz bar in all 5 domains — a real sign you’re exam-ready.
  • The two rings measure different things: the Dashboard’s “% Complete” tracks the activity above, while the Progress tab’s Term Mastery ring is simply how many terms you’ve rated “Know it,” so it grows as you rate.

Your progress follows you

Create an account and sign in to save your progress to the cloud — it then syncs across every device you use, and the Dashboard shows “☁️ Progress synced to your account.” Without an account it’s kept safely on the current device (“💾 Saved on this device”).

Install it as an app

From your browser menu choose “Add to Home Screen” (or “Install”). CertStudio then opens like a native app and works offline, so you can study anywhere.
